The congregation of First Baptist Church, assembled at our regularly scheduled quarterly meeting on July 31, 2013, voted to call an ordination council to examine Brother Stephen L. Brown, his character, call to the ministry and doctrine, and give a recommendation to us concerning the advisability of First Baptist Church ordaining Brother Brown to the gospel ministry. Accompanying this action, First Baptist Church further voted to abide by the council’s recommendation: if the recommendation is positive, the church will proceed with ordination the evening of the examining council’s convening. If the recommendation is negative, the church will host a simple Bible-preaching service, and will not proceed with Bro. Brown’s ordination at that time.
You are cordially invited to send messengers to be seated on the Council on September 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the meetinghouse of First Baptist Church on Main Street in North Conway Village. Pending the council’s pleasure, we suggest that the evening service be held at 6:30 p.m. The church will provide lunch and dinner for messengers.
